ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Stephen Phifer, as a third-generation minister with the Assemblies of God, serves the Lord as a writer, musician, teacher, and all-around encourager. With more than 50 years of ministry on his record, he remains active in music education and worship arts education.

Steve has served the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ as a worship leader, worship educator, musician, and writer. Today, his ministry is one of worship renewal. He began full-time ministry in 1975, serving churches, denominational, and university ministries in several states. Steve’s study of worship began in 1980 and has become the focus of his ministry. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education and a doctorate in worship studies. Steve has guest lectured at colleges and seminaries across America and overseas.

Steve’s wife, Freeda, is a marvelous musician and music educator and has been my flawless companion in life and ministry since June 1974.
