What we do
Kingdom Winds Publishing is dedicated to helping authors turn their God-inspired works into high quality, published books!
After our successful start as a Hybrid "Indie" Publisher, we have now expanded to a full spectrum approach by adding both Traditional Publishing and Assisted-Self Publishing options. This allows us to better align with the varying needs and desires of our authors, from emerging new voices to established authors.
If we accept your manuscript to publish under the Kingdom Winds Publishing imprint, we will provide our Standard (Hybrid) proposal detailing required work, options, pricing, and other information. We may also provide an option for Traditional Publishing whereby we cover the cost of publishing. For those who are not approved, are on a tight budget, or would like to forego our requirements, we can provide various services to help you on an a la carte basis.
FULL SPECTRUM PUBLISHING
Our full spectrum approach is designed to meet you wherever you're at—from emerging voice to established author to best-selling influencer.
Standard (Hybrid) Publishing
With our Standard Publishing approach, the author contributes to the publishing cost, but earns much higher profit margins/royalties on book sales than offered by traditional publishers or even other hybrid publishers. In this scenario, we use "partnership pricing" where our profits come from book sales while we break-even or take a small loss upfront.
Traditional Publishing
We now may offer a Traditional Publishing option on many books if our projected sales exceed a required threshold, you have an established following or audience, or if we simply love your book. Under this option, we absorb the costs and financial risk of publishing in exchange for lower author royalties than our Standard approach (but still higher than other publishers.)
Assisted Self-Publishing
If we do not select your manuscript to be published under our imprint, or for authors who want to limit costs, we offer publishing services such as editing, cover design, or interior layout to help you publish independently. You can select the services you desire. Although we do not subsidize these costs like our other publishing approaches, we do price these services affordably.

With our partnership pricing philosophy, generous royalties, and inexpensive book costs, we effectively provide superior economics to most, if not all, of our competitors. In plain terms, we pretty much charge less for services and books, while offering more in terms of royalties or author profit margins on book sales.
At the heart of our overall business model and ministry is KingdomWinds.com. This groundbreaking, multimedia platform was created to expand the reach of our members and authors, while delivering informative, inspiring, and encouraging messages to advance the Kingdom. Our author's books are promoted on (and appear along side of their own content that is published on) our site.
We consider Kingdom Winds to be a marketplace ministry. Although we operate as a “for profit” business, we strive to be deeply rooted and maintain an unwavering focus on a higher calling to serve God’s Kingdom in all that we do. We believe that these two things are not only compatible, but in principle, part of God’s design in partnering with Him. Our leaders are dedicated to creating both a work environment and business enterprise rooted in His Word and His ways. The entire Kingdom Winds design is centered on creating mutually meaningful and compelling value propositions for each stakeholder—our authors, our collective members, our customers, our online community, our partners, and ourselves.
We delight in creating beautiful custom book designs—inside and out—to make your book standout! Unlike many publishers, we involve the author in the design process to gather ideas and input. We want each book's design elements to reflect its message and mood. Ultimately, our objective is to create compelling designs that will please authors and attract readers.
Unless otherwise arranged with the author, all books published under the Kingdom Winds imprint are made available for sale online on Amazon and in the Kingdom Winds Store. Authors typically can also opt to make their book available for expanded retail distribution to more than 40,000 bookstores, libraries, and online retailers such as Barnes and Noble, Walmart.com, and Target.com. We deploy print-on-demand ("POD") to avoid large upfront fixed costs associated with offset printing and holding inventory.

KINGDOM WINDS PRELIMINARY PROCESS
Our unique 3 track model better meets authors' needs while getting more books to print!
The process begins with the author's submission of a publishing inquiry providing some details about their book. We typically request a full copy or sample of their manuscript be submitted at that time or after a brief consult for evaluation.
If approved, we will prepare a proposal detailing the specific work required to be published under our imprint along with various options. At our discretion, we may additionally offer a traditional publishing alternative whereby we cover the upfront investment. (Authors may submit information to be specifically considered for traditional publishing.)
We can also offer assistance with self-publishing on unapproved manuscripts or simply if that’s an authors desired approach.

The book publishing process involves several components and may involve multiple Kingdom Winds Publishing team members. Although our talented professionals do the heavy lifting, creating your book is an iterative process requiring your input and participation.
The key elements are editing, cover design, interior design and layout, marketing and promotion, and author content submission. The timeline for each book varies depending upon its genre, the work being done, and the general timeliness of the back-and-forth process.
In most cases, we create custom, one-of-a-kind covers, interior layouts, web pages, and promotional graphics for your book. Editorial work may include one or more types of work, including coaching, developmental editing, line editing, copy editing, proofreading, and more.
